To give the kitchen some visible borders without blocking views create a kitchen canopy. Also a high ceiling in the kitchen can create the perception of spaciousness.
For old plastic-coated kitchen counters, give them new life by some faux painting styles. These worn out countertops can look like granite in no time! If the tiles you have don‘t jive with the new theme, simply repaint or re-grout them. Your kitchen appliances don‘t have to be left behind too. Tired of your dull white dishwasher? Try painting it blue or yellow instead. Even your ten-year old refrigerator won't mind.
Take your old cabinets and storage shelves for instance, if they're not in that bad a condition, try updating them with a new coat of color. Changing the cupboard doors or the handles may give them a brand new appeal too. Plus, these little changes don't have to cost you a month‘s salary - unlike some of the stupidly priced luxury items you can find for your home.
