Of all the rooms in your lovely, cosy home, the kitchen is probably the one area where makeovers can be harsh on the middle-class budget. However, it doesn’t matter if you have only a few dollars to spend. There are design options that are quite budget-friendly yet produce the same results. Once you’re done with this kitchen makeover, you're going to wish you actually knew how to cook!
Many retailers have set up complete kitchens in their showrooms. They have arranged them to include cabinets, appliances, sinks, stoves, refrigerators, tables and chairs to help you get a feel of how a new kitchen will "almost˝ look like in your own home. You are sure to find a few of these retailers within your neighborhood. Don’t just limit yourself to the well known chains such as Home Depot or Lowe’s. Look in your phone book to find the smaller dealers were they could give friendlier and cozier service.
To finally put together your new theme, place window drapes and exquisite table covers in their appropriate places. Display your grandmother's delicate china or a couple of colorful mugs and dishes on the shelves for a splash of style. Add vibrant kitchen accessories that complement your overall theme as well.
The color scheme makes or breaks an interior design. Rustic kitchen signature color schemes are comprised of shades of red, orange and gold. Orange color is said to be the appetite stimulant and comfort maker. The floor should be distinguished with hard wood and metallic copper shades to give it a Mediterranean feel. Wall painting must illustrate the rustic design owners can try orange, red, shades of gold, olive green and darkest shades of Tuscan style furniture.
Kitchen cabinets will help set the tone for the whole room. The choice of wood will influence the overall look of your cabinets. To create a light look, use a light wood such as ash, beech, birch, oak, maple, or chestnut. For medium range, select cherry. To darker kitchens, choose wood that has some color to it.
