During the ‘scouting‘ period, it may help to get the installer whose ideas you love to do the job for you. They are the ones who know how they do it. It may prove disastrous sometimes to ‘hop’ and collect ideas. It does help to look around and settle for the most impressive however.
Planning your kitchen is a fun and rewarding activity if you have the freedom to do so. Many people moving in to their very first home might consider this option in order to make things uniquely theirs right off. Kitchens usually come complete with sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, and oven-stove combos. Most have counter space as well. And while all of these things are great, and essential to the kitchen‘s functionality, they can pose some interesting challenges if you have limited space. For small kitchens, the following simple design plans are the most common and rewarding:
White wood, blue accents, and exposed stone are a great way to give your outdoor kitchen rustic, classic appeal. Flowers and plants growing up the sides of walls or arbors are great for creating softness and a traditional appeal as well. Think of white-washed cabinets, pale-wood benches, and large rustic dining tables.
After redoing the structure of your kitchen for your new theme, consider a change of wall color. A kitchen usually offers little wall space so you don't have to be too cautious on the colors you use. Bear in mind though that a darker color will make your small kitchen ˝microscopic" while a light shade lends more space to a kitchen than there actually is.
Sometimes, you may want to change only the kitchen in the entire home. For an open plan kitchen, you may have to touch up some sections of the adjacent rooms to match the new look. You might get away with the ‘face-lift‘ if you have a traditional contained kitchen.
