Kitchens have evolved a lot over the years. Once found only in the rear of the house, today's kitchen design takes the kitchen out the background. The challenge for kitchen design is in creating a more open-faced kitchen, that is part of a dining area, a family room or a great room.
Think logically. What things from your existing kitchen are you planning to keep? What are you going to throw away? What will need replacing? What can be refurbished and re-used? All of these questions can give you a headache so make lists of what you’re throwing away and what you need to buy. That way you’re always in control and won't end up with two of anything. When deciding what new furniture and appliances to invest in start by listing what you need and then move on to what you want. Fitting in the necessities should always be your priority.
Make your designs, materials and appliances eco-friendly. Have energy efficient refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens and freezing units. The Australian Government recommends that all households use environmental friendly products, with appliances having Energy Rating Labels. This is to make it easy for consumers to know which appliance is best for their homes and the environment as a whole. The tagline says ’the more the stars, the more the savings’.
Once your new kitchen is done, the idea is that it is built to last at least a generation before you feel the itch to get a new one to renovate. That need for a change is quite expected. Why else would you be getting new kitchens if you’re not moving into a new home?
This is the simplest set up of all grills. It consists of a metal or stone box with a heating element (wood, charcoal, gas) and a metal grate over the top of the box directly over the fire. Open grills are best for direct grilling over high heat and are best suited for quick cooking foods like kebabs, thin steaks and chops, and fish.
